Orthopedic Specialists Will Lead Piedmont Newnan’s Walk with a Doc on May 4

Newnan, Ga. (April 24, 2024) – It is estimated that 126 million Americans, one in every two adults, are impacted by a musculoskeletal condition. Join Georgia Bone & Joint Orthopedist, Clark Walker, M.D., and OrthoAtlanta Physiatrist, Michael McHenry, M.D., on Saturday, May 4, for Piedmont Newnan’s Walk with a Doc at the LINC.

Participants will learn about bone and joint health, as well as the latest advances in surgical and nonsurgical procedures.

Clark Walker, M.D. is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with specialty training in Sports Medicine and sports related injuries. Dr. Walker specializes in advanced minimally invasive arthroscopic treatment of injuries involving the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. He has a particular interest in ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, ligament injuries, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability, shoulder replacement, cartilage restoration, joint preservation, and UCL reconstruction. His practice also includes fracture care and nonoperative management of musculoskeletal injuries. He currently serves in the team physician pool for the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team and provides medical coverage for several local high schools in Coweta and Fayette counties.

Michael A. McHenry, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in physiatry. Dr. McHenry provides pain management and non-surgical orthopedic care to patients through his extensive training in the management of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular and sports-related injuries. Areas of his practice include nonoperative spine care, electrodiagnostic medicine, occupational and work-related injury management, interventional spine and ultrasound guided injections. Dr. McHenry also performs Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs). 

The Walk with a Doc event will start at the LINC entrance at the Newnan Centre, located at 1515 Lower Fayetteville Road in Newnan, on Saturday, May 4. Check-in and warm-ups are at 8:15 a.m., with the walk beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m.

Walk with a Doc offers opportunities for everyone to "walk and talk" with healthcare professionals. During the walks, health professionals will take five minutes to discuss a health topic and then answer participants’ questions as the group goes for a walk. It’s free and open to everybody.
