How do I sign up for MyChart?

Piedmont Healthcare patients have a number of options for signing up for MyChart. At your next office visit, you will be emailed an activation code at check-in, and your nurse or provider may discuss the importance of using MyChart with you. Be sure to ask your provider’s office about MyChart if you have questions about signing up.

If you do not want to wait for an office visit, you can sign up HERE. Once we have verified your identity, we can set up your account.

I am having trouble activating my MyChart account. What should I do?

If your activation code has expired, or if you are having trouble verifying your identity to create an account, please contact our Help Desk at 855-788-6277.

Is my activation code my user ID?

No, your activation code is not your MyChart ID or password. You will use this code only once to log into MyChart for the first time. (The code will expire after you have used it or after 30 days). When you log into MyChart the first time, you will then be asked to create your own unique MyChart ID and password.

How do I access MyChart?

You can access MyChart online at https://mychart.piedmont.org, or you can access MyChart through the mobile app. To download the mobile app, available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, search “MyChart” in the app store and select to download. Once you have downloaded the MyChart app to your device, open the application and select Piedmont Healthcare as your healthcare provider. Log in using your username or password – you can even set up facial recognition to make it easier to log in next time.

I forgot my MyChart password. How do I reset it?

You can reset your password by clicking the “Forgot Password?” link on the Piedmont MyChart homepage. You can also contact our Help Desk at 855-788-6277 for a MyChart password reset. If you are using MyChart via the mobile app, don’t forget to set up facial recognition! This can help you from having to remember your password each time you log in.

I am a caregiver or parent. How do I access MyChart for the person in my care?

You can view another individual’s information in MyChart if you are granted proxy access. Piedmont Healthcare reviews requests for proxy access carefully before granting proxy access. Proxy access allows a parent (or guardian) to log into their personal MyChart account, and then connect to information regarding their family member. Complete a Proxy Consent Form and return it to one of our medical facilities to request access to this convenient service.

Please click on the following links to pull up a printable version of the consent forms to bring to your next visit.

When should I expect a reply from my provider if I send them a MyChart message?

In general, you should expect a reply within 2 business days. We do our best to respond in a timely manner. If you have an emergency or an urgent medical issue, please call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or call your doctor.

Remember that messages you send in MyChart become part of your legal medical record.

Does my MyChart message go directly to my provider?

When you send a MyChart message, a nurse in your provider’s office may help address your question if they can help.

What should I do if information in my MyChart account is incorrect?

MyChart pulls information from the electronic medical record and gets updated after each visit you have with a Piedmont Healthcare provider. If you see incorrect information in MyChart, be sure to ask your provider to correct it at your next visit.

I want to view test results from my recent office visit. How soon can I see my test results?

Your test results are released to your MyChart account immediately once they are finalized.

Why are certain test results not shared electronically via MyChart?

Your provider is able to determine which types of test results are able to be accessed through MyChart. Further, tests of a very sensitive nature are not released to MyChart.

I want to share information in MyChart with a provider outside of Piedmont Healthcare. Can I do this?

Yes. Through Share Everywhere, you can give one-time access to your health information to any provider with a computer and internet access. Once logged into MyChart, select the Menu. Scroll down to the “Sharing” section and select “Share Everywhere”.

You can also download information about your visits, and link your account with other healthcare organizations that have MyChart. To do this, once logged into MyChart, select the Menu. Scroll down to the “Sharing” section and select “Share My Record”.

How does MyChart protect my privacy?

We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure activation codes, personal ID's, and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account cannot be accessed without that password. Further, MyChart uses the latest 128-bit SSL encryption technology with no caching to automatically encrypt your session with MyChart. Unlike conventional e-mail, all MyChart messaging is done while you are securely logged on to our website.

What is your Privacy Policy?

MyChart is owned and operated by Epic Systems Corporation and licensed to Piedmont Healthcare. MyChart is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your name and e-mail address will be treated with the same care and privacy given your health records and will never be sold or leased by MyChart.

I have other questions about MyChart. Who should I ask?
